Dr. Prewitt is the director of the Healthcare Delivery Institute at HORNE LLP.  A graduate of Brent James's Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Healthcare, he leads the firm's efforts in healthcare delivery reform.  His work focuses on training and services that help providers prepare for the healthcare delivery models of the future.

Dr. Prewitt joined HORNE with more than 15 years of experience in clinical surgery. His surgical training included three years as a Medical Staff Fellow at the surgery branch of the National Cancer Institute.  After completing his training, Dr. Prewitt practiced surgery in a variety of clinical settings that ranged from a small solo practice to academia. His most recent clinical experience was at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he was Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Health Policy, practicing as a breast surgical oncologist, an educator, and a health policy adviser to the chancellor. He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and has given presentations at the local, state, regional and national levels.

Dr. Prewitt earned his M.D. at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, and a member of the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure.
