Robert L. Rieger, Jr. is an attorney for Adams and Reese who practices in the areas of public utility law, telecommunications law, electricity generation issues, transportation law, corporate law, governmental ethics, campaign finance and general administrative practice. He practices on the firm's Governmental Relations Practice Team.
Rob has appeared before numerous governmental bodies representing a diverse array of clients. His engagements may begin at any stage, from rendering advice before initial agency inquiry and continuing through final judicial review by the highest appellate tribunal. When necessary, he has successfully pursued legislative and litigation solutions designed to curb agency overreaching and promote a level playing field for regulated entities, as well as for the regulator. He has argued more than ten cases before the Louisiana Supreme Court of Louisiana.
Rob chairs the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry Liability Task Force and actively advocates tort and procedural law issues for business interests.
Prior to joining Adams and Reese, he was general counsel to the Louisiana Public Service Commission, which regulated more than a thousand jurisdictional electrical, water, gas, telephone and sewer entities. Before that, he served as general counsel to the Louisiana Bankers' Association, where he edited Louisiana Banking Laws, lobbied and filed amicus curiaebriefs on banking law issues.
Rob co-authored with E.L. Henry the Louisiana Chapter of West's and has presented seminars on a number of topics in Lobbying, PACs and Campaign Finance- 50 State Handbook and has presented seminars on a number of topics in governmental ethics and administrative law.
